Commonly Asked Questions About Spirulina ChiLe

- Anh Phạm Mạnh from Gia Viễn, Ninh Bình asks: In the box of algae that I bought and used, there are large and small fibers, with uneven sizes. Can you tell me if there is a difference in nutritional value between large and small algae fibers?

Glifefood responds: Thank you, Mr. Manh, for sending a question that may also be a concern for many Glifefood customers. Let me answer you as follows: Living in the southern coastal region of Chile, Chilean seaweed is a large type of seaweed that can grow up to 15 meters long, including a large stem or also known as seaweed base and a long slender tube or also known as seaweed tube. After being harvested by skilled workers in Chile, the seaweed is cut into fibers by machine and dried in an oven with a strict process at the factory.

Small, tender, crispy branches cut into sections are called: Seaweed tubes

The part of algae, with large branches cut into fibers is called: Algae fibers. Algae fibers are cut into long, uneven pieces, so the algae fibers may vary in size. The nutritional content and quality of algae remain unchanged.

- Anh Đức Thịnh from Pho Yen, Thai Nguyen asked: I bought algae, used it up, and forgot to store it in the refrigerator to preserve it. I see white spotted algae, is it still usable even though there is only a little bit left? Are the algae moldy, dear?

Glifefood responds: Thank you for your question, Mr. Thinh. This is probably a common situation for many customers when they buy algae but forget to store it as instructed.

Algae is best stored at a temperature of 18 to 25 degrees Celsius, so after opening the algae bag and not using it all, we should tightly tie the bag and store it in the refrigerator. The maximum time for algae to be used is 12 months if stored correctly. If you see white spots on the algae, it is not mold but salt, so if it's just white spots, you can still use it normally.
